I Am Abusive!

I haven't posted in a week, sorry about that. But I have a few things to talk about... hopefully this will be a longtastic post.

I'm gonna Tarantino it a little bit, and mix the movie reviews in with the other things.

MOVIE REVIEW: "Die Hard"

Bruce Willis, Alan Rickman (who is the voice of Marvin the Paranoid Android on HHGTTG, which is one of my favorite movies). This is a good Christmas movie. That's pretty much. Actually not really. This is probably one of the best action movies I've seen, unlike some that promise action and only come up with words and a few explosions, this has lots of explosions. When a movie says ACTION I want lots of gunfire, explosions, and foreign bad guys, Die Hard has all three in xtreme amounts. So xtreme, that I don't even bother putting the e on (e)xtreme.

This is a fun puzzle thing that Jay showed me:

FUN PUZZLE... THING.

SECOND MOVIE REVIEW: "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind"

Sam Rockwell, George Clooney, Drew Barrymore. Based off the autobiography of game show host and creator Chuck Barris. Very odd, good, but very odd, and funny. The screenplay was adapted by Charlie Kaufman (my favorite screenwriter) so it has a lot of crazy imagery and the way things are done for a lot of it are very... Charlie-ish.

We got straight twos at our marching contest this week. That's basically like "Hey ... whatsup... you did pretty good... I would say... yah, it was good, I mean it could have been better but it was good".

On the bright side I watched Aladdin on the way up to where the contest was.

"I can show you the world
shining shimmering splendid
tell me princess when did you last let your heart decide

I can open your eyes
take you wonder by wonder
sideways over and under
on a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
a new fantastic point of view"

TERCERA CRITICA: "Thank You For Smoking"

Aaron Eckhart, Katie Holmes, J.K. Simmons, about a billion other people (including that guy, can't think of his name right now, who I swear is in every movie right now, he was in Anchorman, Talledega Nights, Snakes on a Plane, Out Cold [that was a while ago] and so many others...). Very funny, and based off the equally funny book (which is one of my favorites). Good message also ("Make your own decisions, don't let people decide for you").

Me and Jacob played this all day in web mastering today, if you have a few seconds (or hours) check it out.

VIERTE FILMKRITIK: "The Talented Mr. Ripley"

Matt Damon, Jude Law. I can praise this one in saying that it had a neat story, but the thing is it had one MAJOR flaw in it (that I just couldn't get over). It seemed like some corny soap opera television show. Something about it, maybe the lines (none of Matt's actually) or the camera or something just made it seem that way. Also maybe the fact that Matt's character is bisexual, and I was watching it with a friend (and basically all my friends are homophobes except maybe two), and that might have changed my view (sometimes if my friend doesn't like it, I won't like it as much just because of their vibe).

I'm giving this a review, but I think I'm gonna see it again, and I have a right to change my opinion, because my score is a little low (I'm a happy reviewer).

This weekend was fun, me and Ben found out something: Popsicles put out fire surprisingly well.

Oh and that my ice cream lady's name is Jill.

I also taped Ben up in a box and pushed him down my driveway on a skateboard.

If any of my friends dies, it will be Ben.

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER... A TELEVISION SHOW REVIEW (based off of a few episodes): "Lost"

I've been wanting so badly to watch this show after last year and all I heard were words like "numbers", "hatch", "guy who plays Merry on LOTR". Well I finally rented one of the discs, and it is...

Surprisingly good.

Reminds me of Cast Away and Jurassic Park... very suspenseful, and just from the few episodes I've seen, I can tell it has the capability of being very intricate. I'm gonna get the DVD's.
